Kashmir Great Lakes (Ex Srinagar )

Overview

• Day 1 Srinagar- Sonmarg

Meet and greet at Srinagar airport around 12:00 PM, get to know your fellow trekkers and trek buddy, and drive towards Sonmarg. Reach Sonmarg and have a good night's sleep as you get ready for the adventure ahead.

• Day 2 Sonmarg- Nichnai

Today marks our first day of this enthralling KGL trek. After breakfast and a brief introduction about the trek, we will begin with our trek. A gradual trek alongside the Sindh River will take you through maple and pine forests. A descend trek from here will take you to the snow-covered Shekdur range, relax around the vicinity before you start your trek towards Nichnai. Upon arrival in Nichnai, check-in, dinner, and overnight stay at the campsite.

• Day 3 Nichnai- Vishansar Lake V

After breakfast, we start our trek towards the Nichnai Pass while we enjoy the stunning views of lush valleys. Hereafter, crossing a river we arrive at the Nichnai Pass or the Vishansar Berry. Witness and enjoy the snow-covered peaks all around it. Continuing with the hike, we arrive at our beautiful campsite with a view of Vishansar Lake and the Himalayan Ranges. O/N at the campsite.

• Day 4 Vishansar- Gadsar

This Chilly morning, witness the Kishansar peak casting its reflection on the azure lake waters. Start the trek towards Kishansar Peak. Later part of the day, we trek towards the Kishansar Lake and finally, make it to the Gadsar Pass

After crossing Iris, reach the picturesque Gadsar Lake. Arriving at the lakeside, report to the nearest Army camp and complete the formalities of getting permission to pass Gadsar. ID proofs are a must for this.

• Day 5 Gadsar- Satsar

Your day will begin with a walk from the army camp towards the stream. Take a break at Maengandob which is fringed by mountains. Reach the first of Satsar Lakes, which is a group of seven different lakes and follow the same procedure of yesterday with the army officials and set camps near the surreal first lake of Satsar. 

• Day 6 Satsar- Gangabal Twin Lakes

Today we trek through rocks and boulders-ridden terrain, passing the last of Satsar Lake. Here onwards we start ascending and reach an altitude of 13,400 ft which is finally our summit point! From the summit, you can also behold the fascinating views of the twin lakes: Gangabal and Nundkol. Trekking for around 20 minutes from Nundkol Lake you will arrive at Gangabal Lake and by crossing the bridge across the lake, you will arrive at the campsite. Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite. 

• Day 7 Gangabal- Narang- Srinagar

On your final day of the Kashmir Great Lakes trek, start from Gangabal camp, ramble on grassy land dotted with yellow flowers and pine forest. Descend and reach Naranag, the last leg of your trek. Reach Naranag village in Ganderbal district. Be driven back to Srinagar and unwind in the Houseboat for the night.

• Day 8 Srinagar (Departure)

No wake up call today. You can explore Dal Lake and go for a Shikara Ride. Later, it's time for goodbye hugs! Transfer to airport with a bag full of memories, pictures and promising of more treks/ trips in future with Trekkers Tribe

• Air /Train fares
• Meals which are not mentioned in the itinerary.
• Mule/ Porter Charges Safari, Camera, Movie camera and Vehicle Charges where company’s vehicle not available are not included in the tour cost.
• Any adventure activities.
• Any Personal expenses.
• Extra food & drinks ordered, Tips, Laundry, Shopping, etc.
• Anything not mentioned above in the Inclusions.

Notes:

We expect you to carry personal luggage on your own, if you wish to offload your backpack, you can give it to a mule. 

Around 1500/- pp. Backpack cannot weigh more than 11 kgs, and should have a waterproof cover. Suitcase/ Trolley bags are strictly not allowed. 

The schedule can be changed on the spot by the manager/ trek leader according to the circumstances and convenience Any cost arising out of any event beyond our control like strike, bandh, riots, train cancellation, flight cancellation, mechanical breakdown, natural calamity, will directly be borne by the guests. 

Trekkers Tribe won't be responsible in case any sightseeing/ activity gets canceled due to any natural calamities or man-made incidents. Guests would be responsible for their luggage/ baggage throughout the trek. 

DO NOT CARRY suitcase or trolley bags, a backpack is comfortable and recommended. 

Train ticket bookings usually start 4 months before the departure dates, so there are chances the tickets will be RAC/ Waiting. 

If you book the tour late, please check the ticket status with us at the time of booking, you might have to pay a bit extra to get a confirmed seat (Tatkal) 

If at the trek gets canceled due to any event beyond our control or Lockdown, a nominal cancellation fee of 10% will be charged and guests will get the credit note of remaining amount paid which can be used by them anytime in the near future. 

The climber must be fit and have sufficient stamina. (Start working out right away if you are thinking to go for this one!) 

Heart problems, high blood pressure, asthama, and epilepsy patients cannot be reconciled on this one

Cancellation Policy

The initial registration amount is 50% refundable only if cancelled 45 days before the trip. 

Out of the second and final installment paid, cancellation fees will be: 

• 25% if cancelled before 10 days of the trip.
• 50% if cancelled before 08 days of the trip.
• 70% if cancelled before 06 days of the trip.
• 90% if cancelled before 03 days of the trip.
• 100% if cancelled before 02 days of the trip.
